Kavin Schieferdecker
The Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau (PHLCVB) has named Kavin Schieferdecker its senior vice president, convention division. In this role, he will lead PHLCVB’s convention sales and services team in reaching booking goals by marketing Philadelphia and the Pennsylvania Convention Center to prospective groups. Schieferdecker is a hotel industry veteran with more than two decades of experience, and most recently served as director of sales and marketing at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas.
Lalaina Alvarez
Lalaina Alvarez has been promoted to the position of convention sales coordinator for Visit Plano. Alvarez has held an internship with the organization for more than a year. In her new role, she will manage all logistics, arrangements, and services for Visit Plano clients after they have been booked in Plano. She will also help meeting planners coordinate events in each of Visit Plano’s target market segments.
Nancy Drapeau
The Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR) has promoted Nancy Drapeau, PRC, senior research director, to vice president of research. Drapeau’s expanded duties will include a more active role in public speaking, webinar facilitation, and press interviews, in addition to playing a more active role in CEIR Index and CEIR Census initiatives. Drapeau started with the organization in 2011.
