Members of MedTech Europe have recently approved a new Code of Ethical Business Practice that will go into effect on January 1, 2018. The Code is key as it aims at ensuring that all interactions between companies and Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and Healthcare Organizations (HCOs), such as hospitals and clinics, are ethical and professional at all times and encourage responsible and ethical interactions with HCPs and HCOs. Medical conferences should brace themselves for an impact as the EthicalMedTech is prohibiting any member medical device company from sponsoring delegations of healthcare professionals attending educational medical conferences unless it is done in educational grant form.

Learner Outcomes:

1. Understand the guidelines and the generic criteria for events
2. How will these changes impact sponsorship and attendance?
3. Know who the entities are that will oversee the process
