Opportunity for: Event Organizers, Suppliers, Faculty, and NextGen Members
Description: The Ascent Pathway program empowers individuals who have faced barriers related to gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, ability, or life experiences. This initiative provides access to education and professional development opportunities to help participants advance their careers. Committee members review applications and select recipients on a rolling basis.
Responsibilities: Committee members will be responsible for reviewing applications and selecting recipients of this scholarship on a rolling/monthly basis.
Positions Available: Approximately 20
Time Commitment: Estimated 1–2 hours per month (dependent on volume)

Opportunity for: Event Organizers, Marketers, Suppliers, Sustainability Professionals, and NextGen Members
Description: This Advisory Board advances PCMA’s Convene 4 Climate initiative, which mobilizes the global business events community to drive measurable climate action and sustainability transformation. Members collaborate with PCMA staff and industry peers to identify sustainable practices, share insights, and champion initiatives that drive positive social and environmental impact. The group will also shape educational content and partnerships, that inspire climate-smart innovation and sustainable transformation across the Business Events Industry.
Positions Available: Up to 15
Time Commitment: 2-3 hours per month for advisory input, collaboration, and advocacy activities
Communication Type: Approximately 4 virtual meetings per year and ongoing email communication

Opportunity for: Event Organizers, Suppliers, Faculty, and NextGen Members
Description: This task force supports the PCMA Community Team in attracting new members and retaining existing ones. Members act as ambassadors for PCMA, promoting the value of membership, identifying prospects, and serving as a sounding board for key recruitment and retention initiatives.
Positions Available: Approximately 10
Time Commitment: 2–3 hours per month for outreach and engagement activities
Communication Type: Approximately 5–6 calls per year and ongoing email communication
Opportunity for: A variety of seasoned industry leaders with the ability to exercise due diligence, consider diverse perspectives, and contribute to the selection of future PCMA leaders.
Roles & Responsibilities: The Nominating Committee plays a vital role in shaping PCMA’s future by building a diverse, strategic, and knowledgeable Board of Directors and Trustees. Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing board candidate qualifications through written applications and video interviews
- Selecting Officers and Directors/Trustees based on criteria set by the Governance Committee

- Application Window: Wednesday, March 4 – Monday, March 23, 2026.
- Positions Available: up to 10
- Time Commitment: May – September | ~ 30 volunteer hours
- Communication: 2 – 3 video calls, one 3-day in-person meeting*
- Travel Commitment: *Committee members must be available for and participate in in-person interviews and deliberations in Chicago between Sunday, August 23 – Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

Description: This committee supports the PCMA Foundation’s annual auction to meet or exceed fundraising goals. Members assist with item procurement, promotion, and engagement strategies across PCMA events.
Positions Available: Approximately 10–15
Time Commitment: 2 hours per month
Communication Type: 4–6 calls per year and email communication
Opportunity for: Legacy Society members
Description: This committee supports the PCMA Foundation Board in ensuring sufficient resources to carry out the Foundation’s mission. Composed of engaged fundraisers and Legacy Society members, the group focuses on major donor cultivation and advancement of core giving programs.
Positions Available: Approximately 5
Time Commitment: 1 hour per month
Communication Type: 4–6 calls per year and potential in-person meetings aligned with PCMA events
Opportunity for: Event Organizers, Suppliers, Faculty, and NextGen Members
Description: This committee reviews grant applications and determines whether to approve, decline, or request additional information. Recommendations for grants exceeding annual spending policies are submitted to the PCMA Board for final approval.
Positions Available: Approximately 10
Time Commitment: 2 hours per month
Communication Type: 3–4 calls per year and email communication
Opportunity for: Event Organizers, Suppliers, Faculty and Next Gen members with at least 5 years of experience in the business events industry.
Description: This committee reviews applications for various PCMA Foundation scholarships throughout the year. Members evaluate applicants based on established criteria and participate in the selection process in alignment with scholarship timelines.
Positions Available: Approximately 10
Time Commitment: 4–6 hours during 2–3 months of the year
Communication Type: 3–4 calls per year and email communication
Opportunity for: Event Organizer and Supplier members
Description: This committee supports fundraising efforts for the Visionary Awards. Each member is assigned a list of prospective table and ticket purchasers for personal outreach and follow-up.
