Peter is the CEO of ASIS International, the largest global membership organization for security management professionals that crosses industry sectors, embracing every discipline along the security spectrum from operational to cybersecurity. O’Neil, an accomplished association management executive, joined ASIS in January of 2016, bringing a broad scope of strategic leadership experience and business acumen. Peter has over thirty years of non-profit experience leading and managing both industry trade association and individual membership organizations.

Peter has held many volunteer leadership roles. He currently serves on the PCMA Board where he is entering his second, two-year term and where he has served as Chair of the Governance Committee. In the past Peter has served as Chairman of ASAE and the ASAE Foundation. He became a CAE in 1998, was named a Fellow of ASAE in 2006, and was bestowed the prestigious ASAE Key Award from ASAE in 2019.
