Patricia Affonso-Dass, group general manager at Ocean Hotels in Barbados, has been named president-elect for the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association. Affonso-Dass will serve as president-elect for the next year before becoming president next summer. She will serve a two-year term as president.
Bryan Scott has been named chief strategist for CadmiumCD, a cloud-based event management software company. Previously, he served as president of the convention division for Wyndham Jade, where he headed up a multi-department team of industry experts in delivering technology-enabled solutions for events.
The New Orleans Earnest N. Morial Convention Center announced it has appointed Michelle Minyard as national sales manager. Minyard, who brings more than 25 years of hospitality industry experience to her role, will be responsible for developing and assisting clients in the Washington, D.C., and Southeast markets. Previously, she served as sponsorship director for the Festival International de Louisiane and the New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Jeff Janes has been promoted to executive creative director of experiential strategy for GES, a global experiential marketing partner for exhibits and events. Janes, who has been part of the GES creative department for more than 20 years, led special projects as a creative director before the promotion.
BlueHive Strategic Environments, an international exhibit and design company, has hired David Silva as vice president of design. Silva brings more than two decades of design experience to his role. He will work out of the company’s headquarters in Worcester, Massachusetts.
