A health psychologist, McGonigal focuses on understanding the mind-body connection and works to translate academic research into practical strategies for health, happiness, and success. She’s a lecturer at Stanford University and a best-selling author whose books include The Willpower Instinct and The Upside of Stress. Her The Joy of Movement is due out later this year. McGonigal’s TED talk, “How to Make Stress Your Friend,” has more than 20 million views.
