Dubai hoteliers adapting to surge in Chinese guests, says Kempinski MoE GM

Hotel operators across Dubai have strived to adapt to meet the needs of a massive influx of Chinese tourists visiting the emirate, according to Slim Zaiane, the general manager of the Kempinski Mall of the Emirates. According to official statistics from Dubai Tourism, Chinese tourist numbers rose 12 percent in 2018 to reach 875,000. Between January and June 2019, over 501,000 Chinese tourists visited the emirate. The UAE introduced visa-on-arrival for Chinese tourists in September 2016.
