Ballroom in Costa Rica Moonlights as Rainforest

Los Sueños Marriott Ocean & Golf Resort in Herradura, Costa Rica, has created a room designed to be like the rain forest around the property.

Los Sueños Marriott Ocean & Golf Resort doesn’t have to look far for design inspiration. Located in Herradura, Costa Rica, the gorgeous property sits between the Pacific Ocean and an 1,100-acre tropical rainforest. Which explains a new room set that Los Sueños has used twice now: an indoor rainforest.

“We worked with a famous local florist who is known for her beautiful indoor designs inspired by Costa Rica’s nature and lush rainforest,” said Maria Barboza, Los Sueños’ events manager. “The entire room was decorated with multiple types of indigenous leaves and ivy to recreate our rich landscape and microclimates.”

The concept is incorporated into everything—table settings, ambient décor, and even the buffet, which includes an expansive salad bar with dressings using mango and other exotic fruits, Barboza said, “for a taste of Costa Rica.”
