How Do You Avoid Travel Burn-Out?

#OntheRoad

Traveling is a huge part of my life and I love it. Yet, when you travel regularly, it can change your attitude of a destination. While organising an event, you may visit a place up to 20 times, and you can even lose the connection with a city you have great fondness for. If you focus only on how it will deliver your event, it can become somewhere you perceive in a functional way. You can be an expert on its event product, without feeling the real character of the city at all.

I like to feel comfortable in the places I visit and try hard not to lose the connection. While there, I live like a local. I walk places without a map and avoid tourist attractions. Instead, I seek out great running routes, try the local food stores and eat in popular restaurants.

Paris is a favourite city, and its elegant, warm, and the large boulevard layout is truly beautiful. When there I visit Les Ombres, a relaxing restaurant that is loomed over by the iconic Eiffel Tower — it’s wonderful. Another favourite is Tickets in Barcelona, with head chef Albert Adrià. Restaurants are a great way to feel the vibe of a city and I wholeheartedly recommend taking the time to find the ones you can connect with.
