New hotel developments and major updates mean easier planning and more creative options for planners eyeing this popular Southwestern location.

Finding an exceptional hotel for your group is a breeze when you’re planning an event in this dynamic capital city. The Greater Phoenix area is home to over 66,000 rooms at more than 480 hotels and resorts, with more than 3,800 rooms available in the city’s downtown core. Downtown is on pace to accommodate nearly 4,000 hotel rooms by 2020, thanks to new hotel options and ongoing renovations.

Stylish New Developments

A 199-room, 13-floor AC Hotel by Marriott is currently under construction and scheduled to open in early 2021. Centrally located in downtown’s Arizona Center, the new hotel will be part of a million-square-foot, mixed-use site that houses shopping, entertainment and dining options for your attendees, just one block from the Phoenix Convention Center.

To help your group get down to business, the AC Hotel will offer 3,400 square feet of meeting space, including two media salons and a boardroom. After hours, attendees will be able to enjoy a lobby bar and lounge, featuring signature cocktails and tapas appetizers—plus an outdoor patio lit by fireplaces.

In downtown’s Roosevelt Row Arts District, construction nears completion on the $26 million Cambria hotel, an upscale property known for special touches that enhance the guest experience. Scheduled for completion in late 2019, the property will include a ground-floor café, restaurant and rooftop bar, in addition to business luxuries such as well-connected, modern meeting spaces and free Wi-Fi.

Major Updates Downtown

The development boom in Phoenix doesn’t stop at new properties. All across the downtown area, hotels are being reimagined with upgrades to better meet the needs of business travelers. During the workday, attendees can take advantage of new meeting and coworking areas—including a new coffee bar that will anchor the lobby/community space in the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown, the city’s largest hotel and marquee property for the hotel brand. Similarly, the Hyatt Regency Phoenix and the Renaissance Phoenix Downtown are also adding restaurants, gathering places to kick back with a cocktail, as well as fitness centers to meet travelers’ needs around the clock.
