Judy Mahoney
Scotiabank Convention Centre has appointed Judy Mahoney as vice president, sales and marketing. She will bring her 20-plus years of experience in the hospitality industry to her new role at the venue in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. Mahoney previously worked as director of sales and marketing at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel.

Dean Altvater
Dean Altvater has joined the AlliedPRA global sales team as global sales director in the New York region. He will be responsible for generating new business leads and revenue streams in the association, corporate meetings, and incentives sectors. Altvater will also drive strategic sales efforts and client development in the New York area and in growing North American markets. Altvater most recently served as director of sales for an international luxury hotel brand.

James Anderson
JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa has named James Anderson as director of sales and market. He previously was the director of group sales for the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas. Anderson spent 12 years with Gaylord before taking on his new position.

Gina dePingre’
The Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau has announced that Gina dePingre’ has been appointed as sales and service coordinator. She will support the convention and tourism sales department as she focuses on selling group tours, convention and meeting space, and more than 10,000 hotel rooms. She previously worked as membership director at the Denton Chamber of Commerce in Denton, Texas.

Chris Cherek
Aquarian, Shepard’s entertainment and production arm, has named Chris Cherek as director of sales and as executive producer. Cherek has managed and produced large-scale experiential event programs for more than 25 years. He helped produce events such as a fan experience for a PGA tournament and a national tour for Kellogg’s Special K. In his new role, Cherek will help accelerate the company’s growth while helping it maintain high levels of customer service.

Sharon Cabral
Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has named Sharon Cabral as the area director of sales and marketing for Northern California. Cabral, a 20-year industry veteran, most recently served as director of sales and marketing at Rosewood Sand Hill. Before joining Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, she worked as director of sales and marketing at the Omni San Francisco and the Mandarin Oriental San Francisco.

Kathleen “Katie” Conaway
VisitPITTSBURGH has appointed Kathleen “Katie” Conaway to the newly created position of domestic and international group sales director. Conaway has held several roles in Pittsburgh’s Cultural District, including director of education and outreach as well as group sales and audience development manager at Pittsburgh Public Theater. She also served as group sales coordinator at Pittsburgh CLO. In her new role, Conaway help expand VisitPITTSBURGH’s strategic efforts to promote the region to international markets.

Ernest G. Matthews Jr.
Snohomish County Tourism Bureau has named Ernest G. Matthews Jr. its new group sales manager. In this position, his sales focus will be on social, educational, military, religious, and fraternal organizations to facilitate events in the North Seattle Region. Matthews began his hospitality career with Marriott Hotels. He has since worked for Sonmar Management, Holland America — Westmark Hotels Division, and Peak Hospitality.

Whitney Bell
NTP Events has announced the promotion of Whitney Bell as vice president of marketing. Bell, who has been with NTP for three years, will be responsible for the strategic planning, management, and execution of marketing campaigns to increase attendance and exposition sales, as well as enhance engagement and drive revenue for NTP Events’ clients.
