Kathleen “Katie” Conaway
VisitPITTSBURGH has appointed Kathleen “Katie” Conaway to the newly created position of domestic and international group sales director. Conaway has held several roles in Pittsburgh’s Cultural District, including director of education and outreach as well as group sales and audience development manager at Pittsburgh Public Theater. She also served as group sales coordinator at Pittsburgh CLO. In her new role, Conaway help expand VisitPITTSBURGH’s strategic efforts to promote the region to international markets.

Ernest G. Matthews Jr.
Snohomish County Tourism Bureau has named Ernest G. Matthews Jr. its new group sales manager. In this position, his sales focus will be on social, educational, military, religious, and fraternal organizations to facilitate events in the North Seattle Region. Matthews began his hospitality career with Marriott Hotels. He has since worked for Sonmar Management, Holland America — Westmark Hotels Division, and Peak Hospitality.

Whitney Bell
NTP Events has announced the promotion of Whitney Bell as vice president of marketing. Bell, who has been with NTP for three years, will be responsible for the strategic planning, management, and execution of marketing campaigns to increase attendance and exposition sales, as well as enhance engagement and drive revenue for NTP Events’ clients.

Brad Feichter
Brad Feichter has been named event manager at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center (MCCNO). He will be responsible for managing all aspects of event planning, and will serve as a liaison between the MCCNO and clients. Feichter joins the MCCNO after serving for three years as senior banquet manager for the Convention Center’s food and beverage contractor, Centerplate.

Susan Giambalvo
Visit Seattle has appointed Susan Giambalvo as national account director for convention sales in Visit Seattle’s Washington, D.C., satellite office. She will look for new business in assigned markets and showcase Seattle facilities and attractions to event organizers. Giambalvo has more than two decades of experience in the hospitality industry. Previously, she served as director of global accounts for the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corporation.
