Irish Animators Score 14 US Daytime Emmy Nominations

Have You Heard?

Irish animators have been recognised by the prestigious US Daytime Emmy Awards with 14 nominations for shows including “Doc McStuffins,” “Wild Kratts,” “Vampirina,” “The Stinky & Dirty Show,” and “Octonauts,” all of which are made by Brown Bag Films, based in Dublin.

What does that have to do with the live events industry? Festivals have played a role in raising the profile of Irish animation studios. A number of animation festivals and events held in Ireland over the past few years have helped the island nation present itself as a hub of creativity in this sector. Over the past six years, A Festival of Story and the Animation Dingle Festival event (held just last weekend) have attracted the likes of Pixar and the artists behind the popular UK-based “Wallace and Gromit” clay animation comedy series.
