But the just-completed renovations at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Hotel and Casino—located in Maricopa, Arizona, and only 30 miles from the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport—make now the right time to go.
Meeting planners can expect 28,350 square feet of newly renovated, flexible conference and event space within the hotel. This includes an 18,024-square-foot ballroom, which can accommodate 1,000 attendees and be divided into as many as six rooms. Concerned about the casino stealing focus from your message? Don’t be. The Poolside Reception Area
Let the shimmering lagoon-style pool at Harrah’s Ak-Chin be your event’s desert oasis accessory. Just off the meeting facilities, this space can accommodate 70 guests under its patio and offers additional open-air space for 40—making it an ideal locale for an opening or closing day gathering.
The hotel boasts five on-site restaurants, several of which are available for buy-outs and have private dining rooms. But there are two that should be at the top of your list: Chop, Block & Brew, a steakhouse born to host business dinners, and Oak & Fork, a casual indoor-outdoor eatery offering wine and small plates.
The Diamond Lounge
Traditionally reserved for Harrah’s most VIP guests, this space could easily host a small breakout session or after-hours event.
