Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort: Getting Bigger and Better

A major expansion project at this mountain escape promises to take events to new heights.

In the 21-year history of Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort, there’s never been a time that the property hasn’t been expanding. This commitment to offering its guests more—more rooms, more meeting space, more entertainment—is at the heart of the property’s current evolution to become what Harrah’s claims will be the largest hotel and conference center (under one roof) in the Carolinas.

In 2021, Harrah’s Cherokee will complete an expansion project that will add 83,000 square feet of conference space and a fourth hotel tower to its campus. These additions will equal 115,794 square feet of total meeting space and 1,833 guest rooms and suites.

Big numbers like these are required of a venue that’s within easy driving distance of several major cities in the Southeast, and only a direct flight away from destinations such as New York, Dallas, Denver and Chicago. And let’s face it: Most attendees won’t hesitate to sign up for an event that places them in the center of the majestic, Great Smoky Mountains and under the same roof as a casino, spa and concert venue.

The new hotel tower will house a majority of the property’s suites, which attendees are sure to love almost as much as the new terrace pool, fitness center, coffee and pastry bar, and retail shops. For planners, the expansion will bring even more options for meeting venues. A new 32,000-square-foot ballroom will accommodate up to 22 configurable meeting spaces including: A 11,100-square-foot ballroom pre-function; a 900-square -foot boardroom; a 35,000-square-foot exhibition hall; and a 6,000-square-foot exhibition hall pre-function.

Take your event to new heights at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort.
