PCMA’S BUSINESS EVENTS SUMMIT LOCATIONS SECURED FOR NEXT THREE YEARS
South Lake Tahoe, Indianapolis and Tampa Bay to Host Members-Only Summit
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS – Sherrif Karamat, CAE, President & CEO of PCMA and CEMA today announced the host destinations for its Business Events Summit (BES) through 2029. The multi-year commitment provides PCMA members with advanced visibility into one of the association’s signature education experiences.
Formerly edUcon, BES is an advanced, members-only education experience built for business events strategists ready to sharpen their expertise, solve real-world challenges and elevate their impact. The Summit features longer sessions, hands-on application and peer-driven problem solving, creating a focused environment where participants collectively address challenges and leave with tools they can implement immediately.
Business Events Summit 2027 | South Lake Tahoe, Nevada | June 20–23, 2027
“We’re thrilled to welcome the PCMA Business Events Summit to South Lake Tahoe in 2027. Our destination has undergone an exciting transformation, with the newly renovated Caesars Republic and Tahoe Blue Event Center adding new energy and possibilities for business events. Where else can you bring world-class meetings, big ideas and a little mountain air together—with the Sierra Nevada as your backdrop? We can’t wait to welcome the PCMA community and show them what we mean by ‘Awe and Then Some.'”
– Carol Chaplin, President & CEO, Visit Lake Tahoe
Business Events Summit 2028 | Indianapolis, Indiana | June 4-7, 2028
“Welcoming 1,000 of our industry’s most influential meetings professionals for the 2028 PCMA Business Events Summit is an incredible opportunity to showcase what Indy does best: bring people together. There’s no better backdrop to convene than USA Today’s No. 1 Convention City. As a former PCMA Board Chair, I personally could not be more excited to give our industry colleagues a firsthand look at Indy’s momentum and deliver an experience that inspires what’s next for business events.”
– Leonard Hoops, President and CEO of Visit Indy
Business Events Summit 2029 | Tampa Bay, Florida | June 10 – 13, 2029
“Tampa Bay is thrilled to be the home for PCMA’s 2029 Business Events Summit after hosting their highly successful Partnership Summit last year. Choosing Tampa Bay once more and partnering with Visit Tampa Bay to deliver on their vision for the 2029 summit further cements our reputation as a world-class meeting location. We look forward to showcasing Tampa Bay’s exciting growth and new developments like the five-star Pendry Tampa Hotel, Gasworx development in Ybor City, and the expansion of the award-winning Tampa Riverwalk.”
– Santiago C. Corrada, President and CEO of Visit Tampa Bay
The announcement follows the 2026 Summit in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, the first edition under the Business Events Summit brand and the first held exclusively for PCMA members. The program combined advanced learning with philanthropy, as PCMA Foundation events raised funds to provide scholarships for business events professionals and the Heroes of Hospitality program recognized local frontline excellence.
Securing destinations three years out allows PCMA to design each Summit with greater intention — aligning education, community engagement and destination partnership from the onset — while giving members and their organizations the ability to plan professional-development investments with confidence.
“Our members told us they want learning that goes deeper and stays with them, and Business Events Summit is our response,” said Karamat. “South Lake Tahoe, Indianapolis and Tampa Bay each bring something different, and each share our belief that business events strengthen communities. Securing these partnerships now means we can build three Summits that push our community further — and provide members with a clear path to keep growing with us.”
Business Events Summit is open exclusively to PCMA members, keeping the experience intentionally sized to preserve its community feel and the quality of peer interaction. Non-members may register at the New Member + Event rate, which bundles a PCMA membership with Summit registration.
