Brett C. Mitchell and Stacey Church
Brett C. Mitchell, CVE, general manager of the Overland Park Convention Center in Kansas City, has been installed as chair of the board of directors of the International Association of Venue Managers, replacing outgoing chair Stacey Church, CVE. During his term as chair, Mitchell will focus on bringing in-person and on-demand content to the 7,000 members who cannot attend IAVM’s regional or national conferences. He previously served as chair of IAVM’s Convention Center Committee and also serves on the Board of Directors of the Exhibition Services and Contractors Association.
Heidi Hallows
Virginia-based DMO Visit Loudoun has appointed Heidi Hallows as its new director of sales. She joins the organization from Choose Chicago, where she served as director of sales for the Eastern Region. Previously, she held senior sales roles with the Marriott St. Louis Grand and Marriott Wardman Park in Washington, D.C. and brings more than 20 years of hospitality experience to the role.
Jennifer Nagle
The Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau has promoted Jennifer Nagle from vice president of external affairs & special projects to chief of staff. In her new role, Nagle will serve as a strategic advisor and help translate organizational priorities into coordinated action across departments.
Melanie Granado
Melanie Granado has been appointed general manager of the Caney Pines Convention Center in New Caney, Texas, currently in development. She will oversee day-to-day operations, including scheduling, operations, finance, advertising, sponsorship, and hospitality. Granado is relocating to New Caney from the Hilliard Center in Corpus Christi, Texas. The 210,070-square-foot Caney Pines Convention Center is set to open in December.
