Dan Sherman
AFR, a portfolio company of One Rock Capital Partners, has appointed Dan Sherman as its new chief revenue officer. The appointment continues AFR’s investment in senior leadership as the company builds on the momentum of its recent partnership with One Rock. He joins AFR from TMS, where he was executive vice president of business development after previously holding senior roles at Freeman and Pinnacle Live. In his new role Sherman will lead revenue growth and go-to-market strategy across AFR’s four business segments: special events, trade shows, residential, and commercial.
Chris Konecki
The Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority, which is the managing authority over Chicago’s McCormick Place convention center, has announced the appointment of Chris Konecki as the facility’s new general manager. He brings a unique perspective to the role, having spent 16 years with the Authority, including serving as an event manager responsible for meetings, conventions, and trade shows. In his new role, Konecki will oversee daily operations for the convention center and work closely with employees, customers, labor partners, hospitality stakeholders and event organizers.
