Rebecca Turner has been named Destinations International’s vice president of education and certification. She has more than 25 years of experience in non-profit education program management and development for domestic and international audiences. Most recently, she served as vice president, global education, professional development and training for the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions.
Louisville Tourism has appointed Neil Hibbert to the position of director of southeast sales. In his new position, Hibbert will be responsible for promoting and selling Louisville as a convention, meeting, and trade show destination to area-based national associations, government organizations, and corporations in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana, Colorado, and multicultural markets. Hibbert has an extensive background in convention sales, most recently serving as director of sales for Discover DeKalb Convention & Visitors Bureau in Atlanta.
Brandy Hudgins has been appointed Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau’s sales manager, small meetings. In this role, Hudgins is responsible for leveraging client relationships in all domestic markets to book small meetings and reunions in Atlanta requiring 10-50 hotel room nights on peak. Before joining the in-house sales team, Hudgins served as trade show sales coordinator, assisting in selling and marketing Atlanta and Georgia as well as coordinating logistics for Atlanta’s presence at national trade shows.
The Reno-Sparks Convention & Visitors Authority has announced that Kelly Carr has been named general manager for SMG-contracted facilities in northern Nevada. Carr is responsible for overseeing operations and management of the Reno-Sparks Convention Center, Reno Events Center, National Bowling Stadium, and Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center. Carr has been an SMG employee for more than 14 years and most recently served as general manager of the Oncenter in Syracuse, New York.
