Julie Coker
Julie Coker has resigned as president and CEO of the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau (PHLCVB), a position she has held since January 2016. She will step down in March to take on the position of president and CEO of the San Diego Tourism Authority. The process of finding a new leader for the PHLCVB is now underway with the help of SearchWide Global, a national executive recruitment firm specializing in the hospitality industry.
Crystal Kennedy
The PHLCVB has appointed Crystal Kennedy as senior national accounts director. Kennedy will oversee accounts based in the Western and Southeastern United States, focusing her attention on association, sports, and corporate citywide business development. Kennedy has 17 years of hotel experience, most recently working as associate director of sales at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas.
Kanvar Singh
Dream Hotel Group has announced the promotion of Kanvar Singh to vice president of operations. In this role, Singh will be tasked with successfully leading the operations and lifecycles of three Dream Hotel Group properties in New York — Dream Midtown, The Time New York, and The Time Nyack, as well as Unscripted Durham in North Carolina and Heritage House in California. Most recently, Singh served as area managing director for The Time New York, The Time Nyack, and Dream Midtown.
Micah Allen
Micah Allen has been named the new director of sales for the Miami Beach Convention Center. In this role, she will develop strong relationships with internal and external customers while attracting new business to the Miami Beach Convention Center. Allen has held leadership roles with several hotels and venues throughout her career, including the JW Marriott Hotel New Orleans and the Jackson Convention Complex.
