Steve Pemberton’s journey has taken him from being an orphan in foster care to a trail-blazing corporate executive, author, and philanthropist. At Monster, Walgreens and in his current role as Globoforce Chief Human Resources Officer, he changed the diversity conversation from classifying people by visible characteristics to focusing on who they are and the life experiences they bring. Steve will share how any organization can shift their paradigm by getting the most out of their teams to increase customer engagement, company morale, and revenue.
Nadya Okamoto personifies the idea of “being the change.” Ever since she was a young girl in Portland, Oregon, her inquisitive nature has inspired her to find solutions to unaddressed problems. At the age of 16 she hopped on Google and figured out how to start her nonprofit, PERIOD, which provides menstrual hygiene products to the homeless. Four years later, Nadya has galvanized multiple generations using social media to garner support and PERIOD now has more than 150 chapters across the U.S. Nadya will explain how she overcame adversity and turned her experiences into a platform for advocacy and women’s empowerment.
