Jeannie Lim Insists on Innovation

Ensuring a sustainable and competitive future for the business-events industry is an ongoing challenge, says Singapore Tourism Board executive director – conventions, meetings and incentive travel, Jeannie Lim.

“In Singapore, we believe that a strong industry ecosystem is critical to our success in becoming a destination for business events,” Lim said. “We need to continually innovate and collaborate closely with industry partners to build strong partnerships and holistic experiences for the business-events industry.”

Despite current geopolitical tensions and increased safety and security concerns, Lim is confident the meetings and events industry in Asia will remain viable.

“Asian economies continue to remain buoyant,” she said, “and thus are attractive and conducive markets for new business opportunities and events that are seeking to tap on this regional growth.”

To those looking to pursue a long-term career in business events, Lim advises to keep an open mind and remain flexible.

“Stay relevant,” she said, “and be adept at evolving.”
