In March we interviewed David Chalmers, senior marketing director, Europe, for event-tech company Cvent, who talked us through the grey areas of GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).
We’re now just a few weeks away from the GDPR enforcement date (25 May), at which time collection and processing of data of European citizens will be regulated to ensure stricter privacy.
But a recent report by vpnMentor revealed that only 34 percent of websites in the EU are ready for GDPR. That percentage was determined after a test of more than 2,500 websites in the EU that will need to follow the new regulations. Most of the checked websites had old privacy policies, and in some cases no privacy policy at all, and were in no way ready for the stricter privacy guidelines coming this month.
