Here are some crazy ideas to make air travel better
Imagine flying economy class seats and having access to a bed, children’s play areas, and meeting rooms. Or how about flying in a plane where digital displays replace the windows? These are examples of innovations being considered by major airlines to help them meet the expectations of future air travellers.
Airbus is considering turning plane cargo holds into relaxation areas with beds, bars and meeting space, by installing removable modules that could be interchanged with ordinary cargo containers.
To make their planes faster and 50% lighter, saving fuel, time, and costs, Emirates Airlines is experimenting with the concept of a windowless aircraft. The airline has recently unveiled a new first-class suite that features “virtual windows” instead of real ones. Emirates President Tim Clarke said he hopes the innovation will pave the way for removing all windows from future planes.
