Dubai: Open for Business Events in a Safe Environment

Building on the strong response in the city and across the UAE to tackling the Covid-19 pandemic, Dubai has emerged as one of the world’s safest destinations, with an effective framework in place to allow business events to take place and strong support for international meeting planners.

Following on from the opening up to tourism in July, Dubai resumed international business events at the beginning of October, with a number of major conferences and exhibitions taking place through the rest of 2020 and a healthy pipeline already in place for 2021.

All of this is being underpinned by guidelines from Dubai Tourism that put an emphasis on the safety of all delegates, participants and staff, while at the same time enabling organisers to create memorable events that facilitate networking, knowledge sharing and professional development.

A major test event hosted in July – the Ai Everything x Restart Dubai Summer Conference – demonstrated how planners can put on impactful events while meeting the highest health and safety standards

In addition to venues, robust measures are also in place across the business events and tourism ecosystem – from Dubai’s airlines and airports to hotels, malls and restaurants – giving confidence to planners as they look to resume meetings over the coming months.

Underlining this, Dubai has received the Safe Travels stamp from the World Travel & Tourism Council and also implemented its own Dubai Assured stamp to demonstrate that establishments are following public health protocols.

Dubai Business Events, the city’s official convention bureau, continues to work closely with organisers and planners around the world to provide them with a viable host city where professional meeting industry suppliers stand ready to assist in creating impactful events.
