In 2017, experiential events led the list of corporate meetings trends. And in the coming year, experience and engagement are expected to be even more of a priority for event planners.
It’s this kind of experience that Dentsply Sirona, Inc., was looking for when it decided to host its inaugural SIROWORLD: The Ultimate Dental Meeting at Rosen Shingle Creek in 2016. Dubbed “the mecca of all dental events,” the conference brought together more than 4,000 dental professionals from around the globe. They met in Orlando to learn from industry-leading clinicians and influential business icons during the three-day educational festival. Attendees experienced comprehensive educational sessions, a trade show, and live entertainment from comedian Jerry Seinfeld. With 200 breakout sessions and more than 150 speakers, the company utilized Rosen Shingle Creek’s versatile meeting space in new and innovative ways.
“Rosen Shingle Creek provided a stunning venue and was the perfect fit for our company to host the inaugural SIROWORLD,” said Caitlin Couillard, Dentsply’s clinical CAD/CAM marketing coordinator. The property offered “ample meeting space for our smaller breakout sessions containing 50 to 100 people per room, as well as our large general sessions, which seated more than 2,000 people.”
The venue’s team was able to make the quality of experience memorable for attendees, which is key when hosting a personalized, one-of-a-kind event. “Customers are always looking for interactive meeting sets that will motivate and inspire their attendees,” said Leslie Menichini, Rosen Convention Hotel’s vice president of sales and marketing. “We offer our cabanas to guests for outdoor mini breakouts. Not only did Rosen Shingle Creek provide the space Dentsply needed for its conference—with 524,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor venues—but the property’s amenities and on-site restaurants, including A Land Remembered and Cala Bella, enhanced the experience for attendees. “The amenities, restaurants, catering, and customer service were nothing short of phenomenal,” Couillard said. “The luxury hotel staff was more than accommodating and willing to help our team with any task.”
Menichini said that it’s the experience that Rosen Shingle Creek provides that attracts new meetings. “In line with industry trends, we’re hosting more planners who choose our hotel because of our ability to host experiential meetings. The demand seems to be increasing and we’re fortunate to have the team and plethora of spaces to accommodate all of the requests.”
