Liz Cheney and Kishore Mahbubani to Reveal Foresights for Business Events Community

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS — PCMA and CEMA President and CEO, Sherrif Karamat, CAE today announced two dynamic main stage keynote speakers for Convening Leaders 2025 (CL25) in Houston, Texas January 12-15, 2025. Liz Cheney, former United States Congresswoman, and Kishore Mahbubani, former president of the United Nations Security Council will connect with CL25 participants through their empowering and transformative keynotes.

“Our universal environment is complex and constantly evolving; therefore, understanding global dynamics and principled leadership is essential for success,” said Karamat. “The global business events industry must not only keep pace, but we must also drive transformation. The insights presented by Kishore and Liz will challenge us to think beyond the ordinary and encourage us to look at challenges as opportunities as we continue to expand our reach and influence.”

Mahbubani will kick off the Monday, January 13 main stage where he will unpack the shifting global power dynamics and offer unique insights for the year ahead. This distinguished diplomat promises to reveal how participants can turn global complexity into a big opportunity.

Cheney will set the tone for the Tuesday, January 14 main stage where she will share how she arrived at her personal convictions, specifically the role of principled leadership. Her insights will highlight how business events can factor into combatting divisiveness and fostering the exchange of ideas in a democratic society.

CL25 is more than just an event – it is a movement that encourages the global business events community to go beyond its orbit, to push the boundaries of what is known, and to lead with vision and purpose. With an exceptional lineup of speakers, thought-provoking sessions, and unparalleled networking opportunities, CL25 will empower participants to explore, engage, and evolve.

Registration for CL25 is open. Additional details, including the CL25 Agenda at a Glance can be found on the CL25 website.
