PCMA CONFIRMS COPENHAGEN, DENMARK FOR CONVENING EMEA 2023

VIENNA, AUSTRIA – September 30, 2022 At the close of PCMA’s most successful European event on record PCMA and CEMA President and CEO Sherrif Karamat, CAE announced Copenhagen, one of the world’s leading sustainable meetings destinations, as the host city for Convening EMEA 2023. Convening EMEA is an omnichannel event created for business event professionals and creatives to share learnings and collaborate to build a stronger future for the global business events community. The annual conference will be held September 20 – 22, 2023 at the Bella Center Copenhagen.

“This partnership with Copenhagen is timely as PCMA continues to foster dialogue and outcomes around sustainability and regeneration for the global business events industry,” said Karamat. “We know that if we expect our industry to transform, we need to lead that transformation. We must become a regenerative society, with regenerative jobs, regenerative industries, and renewable resources.”

Convening EMEA 2022 drew a record 460 participants from 41 countries who engaged in discussions, workshops, and case studies focused on three key topics of future, engagement, and planning. Guided by the theme “Together We Move Forward”, the immersive three-day event delivered a platform where voices were heard, and a multi-generational ecosystem allowed for legacy leaders and rising stars to come together to learn and collaborate.

“As Convening EMEA continues its journey to become the nexus of business events in EMEA we feel Copenhagen will create the perfect environment to foster collaboration, experimentation, innovation, and legacy. Their work on sustainability, green, and legacy initiatives is only a few reasons that we chose them as a destination partner” said Regional Director of PCMA EMEA, Jaimé Bennett.

Copenhagen consistently ranks amongst the world’s most popular capital cities for meetings and conventions. The cultural capital of the North was labeled by Monocle magazine the ‘world’s most livable city’, for its safety, tolerance, green initiatives, international connectivity, creative environments, relaxed lifestyle, democratic design, and the active use of spaces.

“We are excited to host PCMA Convening EMEA next year as it is an event always rich on content and highly engaged participants from all corners of our industry. We cannot wait to move forward with our common important agendas and to show everyone what Copenhagen has to offer.” said Kit Lykketoft, Director of Convention, Wonderful Copenhagen.

“We are thrilled to welcome PCMA and Convening EMEA 2023 to Bella Center Copenhagen. Being able to provide the physical destination space for connecting the peers of our very own industry with the purpose of sharing inspiration and knowledge with one another is the epitome of our everyday mission: Hosting moments that matter.” said Christian Folden Lund, CEO of Bellagroup.
