PCMA ANNOUNCES FIRST RECIPIENT OF GLOBAL MEETINGS EXECUTIVE OF THE YEAR AWARD


 

PCMA Announces First Recipient of Global Meetings Executive of the Year Award

IMEX, Frankfurt, May 25, 2012

The inaugural Global Meetings Executive of the Year Award has been presented to Ping He, Director Global Sourcing and Partner Relations, Experient.

The prestigious award, introduced by PCMA (Professional Convention Management Association) and in conjunction with IMEX, was presented this week at the European trade show annually and recognizes meeting planners that demonstrate vision, commitment and passion for the advancement and education of the global meetings industry.

Commenting on Ping He’s achievement, Sherrif Karamat, CAE and Chief Operating Officer, PCMA commented: “Ping is a deserved recipient of this first award and will set the standard for awards to come. She has steered the vision that has made Experient a true industry leading company with outstanding service capabilities around the globe.

The award was presented at a Gala Dinner in Frankfurt, during IMEX, and in front of an audience from the global meetings sector, along with many of Ping He’s peers from the meetings and events industry.

About Ping He (pronounced her)

Ping was born and raised in Shanghai, China. Her career began in the meetings and hospitality industry with the Shanghai Hilton International, the first foreign owned and operated hotel in China, as Training Manager and Public Relations liaison. Ping received her BA in Shanghai and her MS from the Western Illinois University in the United States. She has been with Experient for 19 years.  In 2006 Ping brought her global expertise to a new role as Director of International Market Development. In this role she has developed and driven Experient’s presence in Europe, Asia-Pacific, and Emerging Markets such as Eastern Europe and the Middle East. In 2009 Ping established the Global Sourcing division and turned her personal vision of being strategically globally in reach; culturally local in expertise a reality. Recent highlights include execution of a fortune 200 client event at the Beijing Olympics, speaker and moderator at the PCMA annual and IAEE China seminar, and articles featured in ASAE, M&C, and IAEE publications.  Ping is a regular speaker at many Global Summits and Global Forums.  She is an advisory board member of Carlson Hotels, and Global Summit.
