CHICAGO, IL, June 12, 2017 – Veteran Chicago journalist and media executive Joycelyn Winnecke has joined the Professional Convention Management Association as leader of PCMA’s growing Media Group.
PCMA, the leading global convener and educator for the business events industry, also announced the addition of Bob McDonald as Vice President, Business Development and Jasmine Zhu as Digital Editor.
Winnecke, formerly President of Tribune Content Agency and Associate Editor of the Chicago Tribune, takes the newly created role of Executive Vice President and General Manager / Media Group. She will oversee business development and coverage of industry issues and trends, striving to increase and better serve audiences and advertisers for PCMA.org, PCMAConvene.org and Convene magazine.
At Tribune, Winnecke led creation of several successful audience and revenue initiatives, including Blue Sky Innovation and Trib Nation, featuring as many as 100 live events each year. She previously was Managing Editor at the Chicago Sun-Times and is a graduate of the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Reporting to Winnecke, McDonald will direct the PCMA business development team. He joins PCMA from Amos Media where he was Vice President for Sales and Marketing. Before that, at Tribune Publishing, McDonald played an integral role in launching 435 Digital, a B-to-B company providing digital content marketing services, and previously led local sales for Chicago Tribune’s digital portfolio.
Zhu joins PCMA from the technology company FanHero after working in a variety of content and social media roles. She will focus on compelling content to extend PCMA’s digital reach and impact.
