Destinations International and PCMA Announce Registration is Open for 35th Annual Destination Showcase

Event Part of Business Events Industry Week

WASHINGTON, D.C. (January 12, 2022) – Destinations International and PCMA today announced Destination Showcase registration is open. Destination Showcase is the most valuable business events industry networking and educational experience in the Washington, D.C. area that connects business events strategists and convention and visitors bureaus (CVBs) to drive successful meetings and events. The event takes place on March 25, 2022 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, MD. Registration information can be found here.

Destinations International and PCMA entered a joint venture for Destination Showcase in 2019 with the intent to grow and expand with more partners and events so customers could maximize their time together. The reimagined event will reconvene business events strategists and destinations from around the world to safely get back to business, network with colleagues and develop a plan for the future of the business events industry.

“We know that nothing truly replaces face-to-face meetings,” said Don Welsh, president and CEO of Destinations International. “For the 35th year, we look forward to bringing together the entire meetings and events industry together to safely celebrate the power business events bring to communities around the world.”

”Since 2019 we have been on an exciting journey to bring business event strategists and destinations together,” said Sherrif Karamat, CAE, president and CEO of PCMA. “It’s the destinations that really help deliver on a successful event and bring it to life, and we very much look forward to hosting a safe and impactful Destination Showcase.”

The event coincides with the inaugural Business Events Industry Week March 23-25, 2022. The week will convene all who are integral in staging successful business events outcomes – associations, corporations, destination organization professionals, industry suppliers and business events strategists. The action-packed week will be curated with client meetings and exciting events to celebrate industry visionaries, all taking place at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, MD.

The following industry events will coincide with Business Events Industry Week:

  • Destinations International’s Convention Sales and Services Summit will be held on Wednesday, March 23, as will a series of PCMA leadership meetings.
  • IAEE’s Women’s Leadership Forum will be held on Thursday, March 24.
  • The PCMA Foundation’s Visionary Awards will also be held on Thursday, March 24.
  • Destination Showcase, a joint venture between Destinations International and PCMA since 2019, will be held on Friday, March 25.
