Clarion Events has appointed Greg Topalian as CEO of Clarion UX. Topalian, who has been in the industry for more than 20 years, founded New York Comic Con and the 2014 boutique event start-up LeftField Media, LLC. He serves on the SISO (Society of Independent Show Organizers) Executive Board. Clarion UX delivers 40 events in the B2B and B2C markets in the United States.
The Monaco Government Tourist Office has appointed Meghan Pearis as manager of meeting and incentive sales and marketing. She recently served as account executive for Dubai Tourism’s Business Events Division, North America. Pearis will be responsible for attracting and growing North American business tourism by growing meeting and incentive sales, as well as developing new marketing events.
Mario Bass will join Visit San Antonio as vice president of sales and services effective October 11. He currently serves as director of sales and marketing for JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa. In his new role, Bass will provide strategic leadership to the sales and destination services departments of Visit San Antonio. The sales team is responsible for helping San Antonio maintain a high level of visibility within the meetings industry.
Shepard has announced the expansion of its marketing and strategy services with the appointment of Cory Smith as managing director of digital solutions. He brings 25 years of experience to the role, where he will help the marketing services team provide supplemental services to clients to help design events.
