David Giger
David Giger will retire from Hilton Worldwide on Oct. 31 after 45 years as a sales contributor. Though he has held many positions at Hilton over the years, he most recently served as senior director of sales & industry relations. Giger began his career at Hilton in his hometown of Pittsburgh before moving to Washington, D.C., in 1981. It was there that he discovered PCMA, as Convening Leaders was held his first week on the job, and he has not missed a meeting since. During his time in the industry, Giger has spent significant time working with PCMA. Giger co-founded the Capital Chapter, the organization’s first and largest chapter, and also co-founded the annual PCMA Education Foundation Visionary Awards in Washington, D.C. Additionally, he has served on a number of PCMA committees in the last three decades. “To me, PCMA strikes at the heart of networking in education and such relative to association meetings, which has been my whole world with Hilton,” Giger said. “I always strived to build relationships with meeting professionals in the association world, and that’s what PCMA is all about.”
Trevor Newman
AEG Facilities, the management company of the Hawaii Convention Center, has promoted Trevor Newman to accounts manager — Hawaii sports and expos. He will be responsible for finding new clients and securing the bookings of sports games and other events. Newman previously served as Hawaii Convention Center’s sales coordinator.
Shannon Perry
Shannon Perry has joined Ontario Convention Center as its new general manager. Perry will oversee the day-to-day operations and lead the management team at the Ontario Convention Center in Ontario, California. Perry brings nearly 18 years of event planning and facility oversight experience to her new position. She previously worked for two national companies, Westwood One Radio Network and SMG Worldwide Venue Management.
Jennifer Kadota
Hilton Waikoloa Village, located on Hawaii’s Big Island, has announced Jennifer Kadota as the resort’s new director of catering and events. In her new role, Kadota will provide guidance to the events team to enhance the property’s meetings and events offerings. Kadota has more than 20 years of experience in the industry, and most recently served as food and beverage manager at Hilton Waikoloa Village.
