Jerry Cito and Laura Petrower

NYC & Company has promoted Jerry Cito to executive vice president, convention development. In this role, Cito will oversee the organization’s network of global sales representatives, including the New York-based staff, regional offices in Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles, and dedicated global MICE representatives in the United Kingdom and China. He previously worked as senior vice president, convention development. Cito has been with the organization since 2001.

NYC & Company has appointed Laura Petrower its new sales manager, convention development. She will be responsible for generating bookings from Mid-Atlantic and Midwest regions, as well as New York City, for groups that require 10-150 room nights on peak. She most recently served as conference sales manager at Destination D.C.

Doug Melinn

Doug Melinn has joined Steelcase Event Experiences as a business development and sales consultant. In this position, he will be in charge of driving new business nationwide. Melinn has worked in hospitality for the last two decades, and most previously worked at Cendyn.

Julie Elfand, Juana Anderson, and Ashley Foster

Bostrom has recently announced promotions and additions to its Meetings & Expo team. Julie Elfand, CMP, has been promoted to senior director of meetings and expositions. She has been with the organization for nearly 23 years, working with global trade and professional association clients. Bostrom has also added Juana Anderson as director of meetings & expositions and Ashley Foster, CMP, as the meeting associate.

Lydia Bates

Lydia Bates has been named director of sales and marketing at the Hotel San Luis Obispo. She has more than 18 years of hotel sales and marketing experience, which she will use to oversee the overall daily sales and marketing operations of the hotel, which is expected to open in June 2019.
