PCMA has announced host destinations through 2029 for its Business Events Summit, giving members advance notice of the association’s annual professional-development event.
Sherrif Karamat, CAE, president and CEO of PCMA and CEMA, announced the three-year host-city lineup, which follows the Summit’s rebranding from edUcon and a renewed emphasis on in-depth learning, practical application, and peer engagement.
The 2026 Business Events Summit, the first to be held under the new name and members-only format, took place June 21–24 at El Conquistador Resort in Fajardo, Puerto Rico. The host destinations for the next three years are:
2027: South Lake Tahoe, Nev., June 20–23
2028: Indianapolis, June 4–8
2029: Tampa Bay, Fla., June 10–13
The Summit is designed for business events strategists who want to address real-world challenges. Its format emphasizes longer education sessions, hands-on learning, and collaborative problem-solving rather than a traditional conference structure.
“Our members told us they want learning that goes deeper and stays with them, and Business Events Summit is our response,” Karamat said.
Each host destination brings a strong meeting infrastructure to the event. South Lake Tahoe is preparing to welcome attendees with the renovated Caesars Republic and the Tahoe Blue Event Center, according to Carol Chaplin, president and CEO of Visit Lake Tahoe.
Indianapolis, which plans to complete a convention center expansion later this year, will host the Summit in 2028. Leonard Hoops, president and CEO of Visit Indy, said the event will provide an opportunity to showcase the city’s convention capabilities and continued development.
Tampa Bay, the 2029 host, will build on its previous relationship with PCMA, having hosted the association’s Partnership Summit in 2025. Santiago Corrada, president and CEO of Visit Tampa Bay, cited projects including the Pendry Tampa hotel, the Gasworx development in Ybor City, and expansion of the Tampa Riverwalk as examples of the destination’s growth.
The Business Events Summit is only open to PCMA members. Non-members can register through a New Member + Event rate that combines PCMA membership with Summit registration.
