Just outside the town of Southam, Warwickshire, England, sits the 600-acre Dallas Burston Polo Club that offers four unique event spaces for gatherings of various sizes.
Despite its quaint, Old English pub atmosphere — with a traditional thatched roof and all — the Millstone Hare Bar & Lounge is the newest of the facilities. There, guests can kick back and have a drink with a small group in the venue’s downstairs space that seats 70, or head upstairs to the Drawing Room, an open function space that can fit up to 150 standing visitors. Those needing some fresh air also can step outside onto the Millstone Hare’s two terraces, which sit on opposite sides of the building. No matter where guests choose to mix and mingle, they can take in astonishing views of the site’s six polo fields.
The Millstone Hare isn’t limited to traditional pub food. The facility serves a number of affordable food and beverage options for lunch and dinner, including vegan and gluten-free offerings. In the afternoon, visitors can choose from a selection mouthwatering sandwiches, salads, and entrees, including wild mushroom risotto and pan seared trout. In the evening, guests can select a deli or seafood sharing board; if they’re too hungry to share, they can try a crayfish and mango salad or a steak paired with a peppercorn, red wine, blue cheese, or garlic butter sauce.
If guests have room for dessert, The Millstone Hare also has tasty treats, including lemon meringue pie, vanilla cheesecake, artisan cheese boards, and, of course, ice cream. Combine that with a spot of tea, and visitors can say they have had a true British experience.
