Located in the heart of Miami Beach, the newly redesigned Miami Beach Convention Center (MBCC) is a light-filled, technologically advanced facility that’s as innovative as it is beautiful. The Center’s façade of glass and aluminum “fins” was designed as a nod to the nearby ocean waves, but the large windows do so much more—inviting the flavors and spirit of the diverse cultural community that surrounds the MBCC in with open arms.
A Reimagined Place for Business
Following a $620 million-dollar renovation, the MBCC added more than 200,000 square feet of flexible event space. But at this locale, it’s not all about the ballrooms (although its new 60,000 square-foot Grand Ballroom shouldn’t be missed). The MBCC will spark serious creative thinking from your attendees at least in part thanks to a partnership with the City of Miami Beach Arts in Public Places program, which placed more than $7.1 million dollars of publicly funded artwork throughout the venue. “It allows people who are coming to conventions to see the depth of arts and culture in Miami Beach,” says Brandi Reddick, Cultural Affairs Manager for the City of Miami Beach. “What people can expect is going to a museum without having to buy a ticket.”
Local Flavors
The MBCC also offers exclusive, bespoke food and beverage service that’s reflective of Miami Beach’s diverse and vibrant community. Conceived by local tastemaker Steven Haas and Executive Chef Ismael Lasalle, menus are anything but ordinary. “Whatever the clients want in terms of a food experience—whether it’s Moroccan, Italian, Peruvian or a fresh take on Florida seafood—we pride ourselves on offering a personalized, unexpected approach,” says Lasalle. From offerings such as seared ostrich carpaccio to new takes on surf and turf, Lasalle and the staff at MBCC strive to put Miami originality and quality into every dish.
