FAQs

This model supports our 2030 Vision by simplifying access, aligning membership with evolving career roles, and making it easier for members to engage globally. It’s a foundational step toward a more unified and future-ready community.

For the first time since 2008, dues will increase by 10% starting in 2026. Members now have access to expanded digital and in person learning opportunities, expanded research initiatives, access to AI tools, global community networking, and an improved member experience

We’ve aligned membership categories with career roles and stages—so whether you’re a student, early-career professional, or senior executive, PCMA offers value every step of the way.

This new category recognizes the growing importance of marketing professionals who lead event strategy in corporate settings. It ensures Corporate Event Marketers receive tailored benefits and experiences, while honoring the strong CEMA community within PCMA.

Yes—in a good way! Categories like Business Event Organizer and Corporate Event Marketer allow PCMA to provide more personalized content, events, and networking opportunities designed around your role.

No. The CEMA identity and signature events (like the CEMA Summit, Labs, and Study Tours) will continue under PCMA. The Corporate Event Marketer category helps ensure this community thrives within PCMA’s broader membership.

To ensure accuracy and ease of classification, members will continue to self-declare their category based on where they spend 51% or more of their time – agencies and third party members who are responsible for strategy or execution of events will select the business event organizer/strategist category. For agency and third party members who work primarily in a sales or service role, the member will select the business event supplier/partner category. Our member profile captures organization type as well to provide further clarity and segmentation.

Our membership rates remain competitive with other leading associations and reflect the premium value of PCMA’s education, research, and community.

Simplicity and fairness. One rate adjustment keeps things easy to understand and ensures no group is impacted more than another.

It’s been phased out. Those members are now better served through primary categories or our discounted NextGen rate. We also offer group membership discounts for organizations with five or more members in the Business Event Organizer/Strategist or Corporate Event Marketer Category.

The updated model begins January 1, 2026. Members received notice on September 4, 2025, a generous renewal window, and current rates will be honored for those joining with a Convening Leaders bundle before that date.

We’ll continue offering a 40% discount for those in World Bank-classified developing countries. This ensures equitable access and supports global membership growth.
