Savor Sustainable Cuisine in Singapore

The expert team at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore’s largest event venue and integrated resort, knows that food is at the epicenter of any gathering. It can start conversations, bring people together and tell the story of an organization in a tangible way. What you put on the plate can not only nourish, but inspire — especially during a busy conference.

This was the experience that 3,200 delegates had at the Schneider Electric Global Innovation Summit Singapore hosted at Marina Bay Sands in September this year. “This was our first time working with a venue partner who had a deep understanding and high level of expertise in delivering a sustainable conference,” says Yuriko Baba, Schneider Electric’s Experience Marketing Manager and Sustainability Partner. “The team at Marina Bay Sands inspired us and elevated our action plan to a never-before-seen extent.” Delegates sipped on Rainforest Alliance Certified coffee, sampled one of the world’s most sustainable rice certified by The Sustainable Rice Platform, and enjoyed other organic products such as meat, wine, butter, eggs and vegetables. Every detail on the summit’s unique and thoughtfully planned Earth-Friendly Menu had a sustainable story to tell, which was exactly what Schneider Electric wanted.

At Marina Bay Sands, sustainability comes standard. The Harvest Menu, a jumping off point for all event cuisine, offers regionally sourced food and beverage options that reduce the distance from farm to table, lowering the emission of greenhouse gases during transportation. In fact, some of the produce comes directly from the lush, in-house herb garden that sits behind RISE Restaurant, where resort chefs go daily to pluck the freshly grown herbs that give each dish its unique flavor.
