Houston Is Ready for the Magnet Conference – Are You?

Houston has already begun the rebuilding process after the destruction caused by Hurricane Harvey last month. The city’s recovery will take months, if not years, and one organization is doing their part to bring business and tourism revenue into the city to aid in the rebuilding process.

The American Nurses Credentialing Center is honoring its commitment to bring 10,000 nursing professionals to the George R. Brown Convention Center next month for the ANCC National Magnet Conference. The Magnet Conference is the largest nursing conference in the U.S., bringing together nursing professionals from more than 20 countries.

When asked if the city of Houston was ready to host such a conference, the answer from ANCC’s host CNOs was a resounding “yes!”

“We have polled our staff who are planning to be part of the conference and our team would be extremely disappointed if Magnet did not come to Houston,” said one CNO representative. “Even though many of our staff volunteers will be going through personal recovery, they see having the conference as a sign of hope.”

Echoing the message, Mike Waterman, president of Visit Houston, said, “Houston is ready. Are you?”
