Focus on Experience, Not Logistics

#Toss&Turn

To remain relevant in an increasingly digital age, Chan Brothers MICE & Travel account manager, Patrick Teng, believes event planners should concentrate on creating unique, live experiences rather than simply managing logistics and reiterating information that is readily available online.

“As time goes by, people are becoming more and more internet savvy, especially when it comes to cost,” Teng said. “Many clients are going online to directly compare prices for airlines, hotels, and transfers. This is a challenge for us because this used to be our core business.

“So what we need to do, in order to differentiate ourselves, is to focus on the quality of the service as well as the creativity of the event, so clients come back to us — and not the computer.”
