Kristen Royal, Head of Sustainable Operations, MGM Resorts International

Kristen Royal brings over a decade of expertise in corporate sustainability to her role as the head of Sustainable Operations at MGM Resorts International. In this position, she leads a team that drives groundbreaking sustainability initiatives essential to the hospitality, gaming, and entertainment sectors. Prior to joining MGM, Kristen was instrumental in developing and executing the sustainability program at Sabra Dipping Company, a PepsiCo brand, where she served as Senior Manager of Sustainability. Her role there involved cross-functional collaboration and direct interaction with senior executives, resulting in significant corporate social responsibility achievements.

Kristen’s extensive background includes leadership roles in sustainability at Tayst Coffee, JUST Water, and The United Nations. With more than 20 years of experience in the entertainment and hospitality industries, she also boasts impressive IMDB credits—an aspect she proudly considers her personal superpower. Additionally, Kristen serves as an Adjunct Professor at Southern New Hampshire University, where she imparts her knowledge to cultivate the next generation of leaders.

She holds a Master of Science in Environmental Sustainability, has completed Executive Education in Sustainable Leadership at Harvard University, and is certified as a TRUE Zero Waste Advisor and in The Global Reporting Initiative.
