PCMA On the Road – Wrangling the Live Event Experience: Strategy, Story, & Showtime

During this one-of-a-kind adventure, we’re not only leaving the Mile High City to learn about Live Event Production, but we’ll get the opportunity to fully immerse ourselves in a live event: The Hell on Wheels Rodeo & Chuck Wagon Dinner Series. Learn from industry experts about the in’s and out’s of live event production, how to create a wow moment for your guests while staying on budget and what traps to avoid to make the event seamless. Additionally, you’ll get the opportunity to hear from Jim and Stacie Walter about the partnership they created to produce this special event that you will get to experience firsthand. Get ready to take your education out of the classroom and grab live events by the reigns!

  • 7:00–9:00 PM – Rodeo
  • 9:00 PM – Depart Cheyenne
  • 11:00 PM – Arrive back in Denver

We will be making a stop in Loveland to enjoy lunch hosted by the Embassy Suites Loveland. During lunch, we’ll have the opportunity to learn more about the property and their impressive 50,000 sq. ft. ballroom.

Live Events Panel:

  • Tom Hirsig – President & CEO of Cheyenne Frontier DaysTom Hirsig, has been the President and Chief Executive Officer of Cheyenne Frontier Days (CFD) since January 2015. The CFD Board of Directors selected Hirsig after a national search to fill the position.A Wyoming native, Hirsig grew up on his family’s cattle ranch north of Cheyenne. He attended the University of Wyoming on a rodeo scholarship, where he qualified for the College National Finals three times, and earned a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Business. A member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA), Hirsig is a three-time Mountain States PRCA Champion Steer Roper. He finished sixth in the world standings in 1987, and was the 1987 Pendleton Round-Up Steer Roping Champion. He won the CFD Steer Roping Championship in 2002.Wyoming Governor Matt Mead, appointed Hirsig as the Wyoming state insurance commissioner in 2012. Prior to that, he had a successful career in real estate management and land development, and was one of Wyoming’s top insurance agents for more than 20 years. Hirsig has a strong connection to Cheyenne Frontier Days. His great-great uncle was a co-founder of the event. Hirsig has served as CFD’s Contestants Chairman, spent 10 years as Arena Director and was also a member on the organization’s Board of Directors, where he served as Secretary-Treasurer and Vice Chairman.
