Improving society is a core value at PCMA where every day we strive to make the world a better place through business events. This Earth Day, we stand proud with our industry and celebrate the efforts we undertake to make business events even more sustainable.
These actions are the right thing to do. They not only improve our world, society and communities, but also allow our industry to continue the important work of driving global economic and social progress. As our economies evolve, it is important to know that, doing good is good for business.
Together, the business events industry has promoted environmentally friendly practices by asking stakeholders to adopt sustainable measures addressing single-use plastics, offering hydration stations instead of bottled water, reducing carbon footprints by sourcing food from local growers or utilizing recycled and recyclable products. Business events venues have pursued and achieved green certifications.
In fact, just this week PCMA signed a commitment with the non-profit Positive Impact and Monterey County CVB to address the role of plastic in the business events industry.
We understand the importance of face-to-face meetings and thus the business events industry is committed to leaving the world in better shape than we found it. That’s something we’ll strive to achieve every day, not just on Earth Day.
