Marc Anderson
Choose Chicago has promoted Marc Anderson to chief operating officer. He most recently served as executive vice president of Choose Chicago, and will continue to oversee a team of 50 professionals in convention sales, client services, special events, partnership, sponsorship, and human resources, and will now also include the Chicago Sports Commission. Anderson will also continue to help manage Choose Chicago’s relationships and responsibilities with its Executive Committee and staffing the General Manager Advisory Committee.
Jan-Philipp Schäfer
Jan-Philipp Schäfer has been named head of the Cologne Convention Bureau. He succeeds Christian Woronka, who took over management of the Vienna Convention Bureau at the beginning of 2019. Before moving to Cologne, Schäfer worked as manager, international market relations, Southern Europe at the German National Tourism Board.
Jim Kelley
Jim Kelley has been appointed vice president, marketing and industry relations for Fern, national marketing support and trade show services provider. Kelley joins Fern from Production Resource Group. Previously, Kelley’s career included roles with exposition service contractors, convention centers, and hotels.
Ross Steele
Ross Steele has been promoted to manage Te Pae Christchurch Convention and Exhibition Center, which will open next year. AEG Ogden will operate the venue. Steele served as general manager of the AEG Ogden-managed Cairns Convention Center for the past 12 years.
Fred Trimble
The Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau has named Fred Trimble its new regional sales executive. Trimble, who is based in Washington, D.C., previously led a team in reopening and rebranding the Watergate Hotel.
Lea Westerfield
The Greater Columbus Convention Center (GCCC) has announced the promotion of Lea Westerfield to guest experience manager. She joined GCCC three years ago and previously served as its guest experience coordinator. In her new role, Westerfield will lead the customer and guest experience programs at the facility.
