Nathan Hermiston
Visit KC has named hospitality and tourism professional Nathan Hermiston as its new senior vice president of sales and services, effective June 3. He joins the Visit KC team from Meet Minneapolis Convention & Visitors Association, where he has worked since 2010 and most recently served as senior director of destination sales. In his new role, Hermiston will manage the development of strategies to attract and promote conventions, tradeshows, and other major events.
Wendy Porter
Wendy Porter, owner and chief events architect at Wendy Porter Events LLC, has been inducted into the Minnesota Meetings + Events Hall of Fame as Best Special Events Planner. The Minneapolis-based Wendy Porter Events LLC is a certified small business and women-owned events management agency. Porter started the agency in 2015 after 25 years of corporate experience. She most recently worked as director of marketing and events for UnitedHealthcare Medicare & Retirement. One focus area of Porter’s that caught the Hall of Fame’s attention is MINNESOTA B.O.L.D, a program she designed to showcase Minnesota to business leaders, VIPs, and guests coming to Minneapolis for Super Bowl LII. Throughout her career, Porter has worked across the events industry, from small, special VIP events to large tradeshow environments.
