The PCMA Education Foundation’s new addition to this year’s Visionary Awards, held on May 2 at the Marriott Marquis Washington D.C., is the Digital Experience Strategist of the Year Award.

The Digital Experience Strategist of the Year Award recognizes digital-event pioneers — the change-makers and trendsetters of digital events. These are the professionals who transcend geographical borders, balancing event integration with engagement in either face-to-face extensions or standalone digital events.

“Meetings + Conventions Calgary is proud to support education and innovation in our industry,” said Dave Sclanders, executive director, Meetings + Conventions Calgary. “PCMA and the Digital Experience Strategists have made significant impacts to the digital event space and we are excited to celebrate their achievements. Congratulations to all of the finalists who are leading our industry forward.”

Meet the three finalists:

Nicole Armstrong

vice president, worldwide events, MicroStrategy

A true champion of new technologies, Armstrong brings a passion for digital engagement to her new role at MicroStrategy.

Todd Helton, MBA

senior director, meetings, conferences & online learning events, Association of International Certified Professional Accountants

Helton launched his association’s first digital program in 2009, and he has continued to grow the program over the past eight years.

Patrick McCrea

senior manager, digital events, HIMSS Media

McCrea’s work at HIMSS is a shining example of how digital can satisfy the needs of sponsors and attendees alike in the medical meetings industry.
