Karen Bolinger is the Chief Executive Officer of the Melbourne Convention Bureau (MCB), and as a strategic business leader she is also a business development, marketing and destination innovator.
Named as “one of the most dynamic leaders in destination management over a decade,” Karen joined MCB in 2011, which under her seven-year leadership has delivered over $1.6 billion in economic contribution to the Victorian economy, through securing and creating international business events for the State.
The success experienced with Karen at the helm of MCB has been the result of more than 20 years of experience in the tourism and visitor industry across strategic planning, marketing, sales and operations.
Karen is President of the Association of Australian Convention Bureaux and sits on the Board of Business Events Council of Australia, Best Cities, PCMA/ICESAP Advisory Board and the Simpleview Advisory Board. She is also immediate past Chair of BestCities Global Alliance and ICCA Australia.
