User Experience & Engagement explores how to define your audience, understand their learning and engagement needs, and develop strategies for creating connections with them online. It also focuses on audience experience strategies for leveraging engagement tools and technology. This lesson will help you map out the entire content and attendee journey for the life of your digital event.

After completing this lesson, you’ll be able to:

  • Define desired attendee outcomes for attending your event.
  • Explore engagement tools appropriate for your attendees.
  • Develop an attendee experience path for your digital event.

Content Strategy, Creation & Delivery explores the best practices that will allow you to significantly influence your audience and extend the ROI of your digital events through quality content that can be repurposed to drive results after the event. It also covers how to collaborate with speakers and effectively crowdsource to curate content that your audience needs while translating those preferences into effective session design.

After completing this lesson, you’ll be able to:

  • Define the desired action you want attendees to take during and after your event.
  • Design a draft session agenda and a plan for how participants will engage with your content (determine the sequential actions they take for each activity).
  • Develop a speaker training program to ensure quality control and attendee participation.

Time to Complete: 45 minutes

Building the Digital Environment explores examples of detailed project plans and timelines to organize the various moving parts of a digital event. You’ll examine the skillsets, internal collaborators and external support necessary to produce and launch your digital event. This includes a discussion on how to build out a digital environment that properly represents your brand and fosters engagement and interactivity.

After completing this lesson, you’ll be able to:

Planning the Live Event delivers strategies for ensuring that your speakers, your digital environment and your team are ready for go-live day. This includes determining how many team members or subject matter experts you should dedicate to engagement and monitoring live polling, social media, and the back end of the platform. This lesson concludes with the best practices for finding, vetting and coaching speakers, including day of action items and responsibilities to consider when launching your digital event.

After completing this lesson, you’ll be able to:

  • Assess the time commitment for speakers and create an expectation outline.
  • Measure registration numbers to determine the number and type of team support roles needed for the live event.
  • Define characteristics of a successful digital event speaker to aid in selecting the right speakers for your audience.
