Rhanee Palma
Visit Oakland has appointed Rhanee Palma, CDME, to the position of chief sales officer. In addition to leading the sales initiatives of Visit Oakland, her new role will focus on strengthening partnerships to drive more hotel development to Oakland. She is the first Filipina-American to hold a C-suite position at Visit Oakland, and one of the first in the history of the CVB/DMO space. Palma joined Visit Oakland in October 2016 as director of sales and was later promoted to her most recent position, vice president of sales and services. Before joining Visit Oakland, Palma worked at Hilton San Francisco Financial District.
Saskia Gentil
CWT Meetings & Events, the global meetings and events division of CWT, has announced a restructuring of its leadership team. This includes the appointment of Saskia Gentil to vice president of global sales and marketing. Gentil, who is based in Paris, has more than 20 years of involvement in meetings, events, and the global travel industry. Gentil is charged with managing the global sales network and collaborating with the global marketing team to align all sales and marketing efforts.
Sabrina Anico and Chuck Holl
The Miami Beach Convention Center (MBCC) has hired Sabrina Anico as its new director of marketing and external relations. Anico has more than 20 years of venue management experience, specializing in marketing, brand development, communications, and sales for new construction, public venue projects. Anico previously provided marketing, promotions, communications, and venue booking support for for-profit entities such as SMG and Faena Hotels. She will be responsible for strategic leadership in developing digital and traditional marketing campaigns, communications, and maintaining external relations to promote the MBCC in the community and venue industry.
The MBCC has also hired Chuck Holl as the new director of public safety for the newly expanded venue. Holl has 25 years of experience managing loss prevention, safety and security, organizational compliance, and fraud within the hospitality and gaming industries. He previously worked for Hard Rock International Casino in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, and MGM Grand Hotel Casino in Las Vegas.
